Another Lame Hair Journey

So, I've been wanting to share my lame hair journey and document my progress to hip length.  After looking back on my years I have accepted that I cannot take pictures without making faces.
So here we go.

I'll start here. This is around 2005.
Just coming out of 8th grade.
 Horrible Highschool Hair.
I always hot combed. Almost everyday. I even pressed my hair with vaseline!! :'(  It was choppy. Split ends and breakage and all that jazz.

Just look at me with my stupid hat and my stupid hair.
Just look at that damaged pony.

Just look at my enthusiasm for growing my hair!

2007 Some dark phase set in and my hair became fuller, but still choppy. eh.

2007ish
Dont judge me. Just look at that hair comming in!

I started combing my bangs to the left instead of right. Surprisingly it helped grow it out some.

At some point I started doing braid outs and bantu-knot outs on my straightened hair.

Classic highschool rebel!  I dyed part of my hair and started wearing tophats and fedoras. :D
Being forced to swim in gym class wasnt helping so I starting doing blow outs.

Mmmm. Look at that pony coming in.
       2009
Last year of Highschool. My hair started rising like yeast.

That pretty purple turned into some ugly peach color. But I thought it still looked kind of cool because it was a different color than my hair.

The colored part grew out and I started doing the natural thing. Twist outs here. I mostly did wash n go's.
I had a lot of single strand knots. :(

Shea butter mostly and castor oil in this era.

Then something happend to me in 2010. Somthing terrible. The streets became riddled with zombies and I stared doing fuzzy blowout ponys for 3 months. The hell was I thinking?
I put more purple in by the way.

                                                     The purple went away again.
                                                           This angered me.
                                                        The carnage drove me.

So I consumed flesh to encourage my growth.

See! It worked!
Although it had me a bit twisted. ;)

I started meeting Anonymous members with nice coily hair to share the experience with.

This was my first successful flat iron. EVERY time I flat ironed it would look like the older pictures. I think my hair started retaining more moisture around this time.

I was pretty satisfied with length at this point.
I kinda liked the big hair thing.

This is the last of that horrible peach streak.

Using a lot of gels here. That peach is hanging on by a thread here.

Went red.
Bleached and dyed my underlayer as well.

I love this red.
Black and red was my thing for a while.

2011.  You cant tell at all, but I shaved my nape and had designs cut in to so when I wear my hair up, it looked like this. Although it didnt last long, it took 2 years for that hair to catch up with the rest of the length.
 Mine looked similar.

I like to call this the "Prehistoric Skateboard".
Im so lame.

Eh, blowouts are only cool for one day.
Too dry.

2012
I took some pro pics for an Afro-Punk project. :D

I did some coils with a rat-tail comb.

This zombie finally grew all her color out.
Yay all black hair again!

I decided to be spontaneous and try temporary dreads. I did this with a flat iron, Pink touchable holding spray, and some back combing. Lasted 2 weeks.  It was no harder to detangle than my twists!  Still trying to refine a better process for making this style. .

2013. This is how its looking now days on lazy days.

Geez My pony used to be that long when it was straight! Awesome!

This is the last time I flat ironed. Earlier this year.
Complete with custom color xbox controller!

Sometimes I feel like my hair is a living being.
Its cool.
We just share this body.

Now I just stick to twisty messy updos.

Im gonna have to give up and do ONLY updos and protective styling which I hate because I like big hair styles. :( ...but at this rate, my hair will stay mid back length forever if I dont do something with it now.
I just trimmed 2 inches this week. Im doing apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil sprays/rinses. Coconut oil, castor oil. Leave in deep conditioners. Aaaanndd some PH balancing. I will reveal in a couple months. :)
